Six Week Sweetness

I’m just thinking back to the good old days (of two weeks ago) when I was home, in NY, with my parents who watched my baby all so I could park myself in Starbucks and edit my little heart away (and even let me shower EVERY DAY before I left the house!) Life was good! Since returning back, my editing time has been sliced and diced into a teeny tiny fraction of what it was and I don’t think I’ve seen the inside of a shower since…which I’m only half way serious about. So it’s going to kill me that I don’t have a ton of time to write to you about all the families and brides and grooms that have been keeping me on the go these past days since I returned to Boston, starting with Kim, Ben, and this baby girl who made my Friday morning so special. And when I say Friday morning, I mean EARLY Friday morning…without my full time babysitters parents around, I scheduled Camille’s shoot at 6:30 am so Alex could watch Leo before work, and so Ben could be around for pictures before his day started. It seemed a little crazy at the time, but honestly, being with this family in the early morning hours before the rest of the world was on the go and before the sun was even up all the way, made this session even more special.

Kim called me a few days in advance to find out details about newborn shoots and after we discussed the session info, we chatted about life and new-mom things. She has this way about her that makes you feel like you’ve known her forever and the minute I hung up the phone I had that feeling that I’ve been getting more and more where I feel so incredibly lucky to be doing this job that allows me to cross paths with people I probably normally wouldn’t who I really, really like. And spending time with Kim, Ben, and Camille a few Friday mornings ago made that even more apparent. It felt as though something stronger than a word-of-mouth recommendation had brought this family to my life and getting to capture some of their first days together as a family was exactly where I was meant to be.

And baby Camille–I could go on and on about her. She is just so sweet and such a little love. At six weeks, her personality is already starting to develop and she was smiley and alert and happy the entire time I was visiting. Maybe that’s because she knows how much she is loved. I couldn’t think of two better people to be her parents and I am thrilled that I get to showcase the bond that was so apparent to me while I was there, with you all!

Let’s start with some quiet pics of a mama and her baby girl.

This baby girl had a wardrobe better than any I’ve seen. This old thing right here? It was from Paris-oui oui!
