This blog’s been quiet for a few days.  Did you miss me?  Introducing you to my little friend, William.  We go wayyyy back.  All the way to July.  I met Will and his mom and dad on our first combined family organized by my friend, Kim.  Kim came up with a plan to get a bunch of families together to take annual summer vacations together, and this past year was our first.  Will’s family was the only one I hadn’t yet met.  And to be honest, I was feeling slightly socially lazy before they arrived and wasn’t up to making the normal small talk chit chat.   Lucky for me, Will’s mom, Melissa, is pretty much the friendliest and easiest person to talk to and we skipped the whole getting to know you conversation and got right down to the nitty gritty.  It turns out Melissa and I have tons in common: we both had baby boys 6 weeks apart and had similar labor experiences that I won’t go into now because you don’t want to hear about it, we both are currently pregnant and due the same week with our #2 babies, and most importantly, we both have a deep obsession with WEGMANS.  Subtract the foot or so difference in our height and we are practically the same person.

Melissa had asked me over to her house to take some photos of her adorable little family to celebrate Will’s first year and I opened the door to her wearing the exact same outfit that I had on for our family photos, topped with little Will wearing the same moccs as Leo.  See.  Our friendship was meant to be.  The thing that we do not have in common is that Melissa married a super talented guy who is not only useful around the house, he BUILT their house.  (My dad gave Alex a tool box for his birthday and I think the hammer still has the tag on it.)  Honestly, I was drooling over every inch of crown molding in the house that Lenny built.  If anyone is looking to remodel or rebuild, you have to contact me to get Lenny’s info.  Seriously, the guy is insanely talented.

So I’m sitting in Starbucks writing this, and randomly, The Rainbow Connection starts playing over the speaker as I’m editing the picture on the right and I just start balling.  The way Will is looking up at his daddy just gets me.

Look at that little bump!  (Looks like a girl bump, don’t you agree?)

You guys…you’re just the best.  Can’t wait for our baby girls to be besties!  Even though we’re both totally having boys.  Wegman’s date so soon!
