I am on the edge of my seat.  Every day, every hour, every MINUTE goes by soooo slow as I sit here waiting for my new niece of nephew to get here.  The suspense is killing me, not to mention not knowing the gender is making it extremely difficult to Christmas shop.  Although she or he is not technically due for another nine days, I physically don’t think I can wait that long so Rosanne…start walking, eating spicy food, or do whatever you’ve got to do to get that baby OUT!  I don’t remember being quite this restless when my other nieces were born.  When my Cameron-girl entered the world, I was so certain that she was a boy that while I didn’t know exactly when she’d get here, I already knew she was going to look like a mini version of my brother. Clearly, she surprised us all.  And when Stella-babe was born, she came two weeks early, so I hadn’t even entered my crazy check-my-phone-every-hour mode.  So now that I know babies can come early AND might surprise us on the gender, I am literally dyyyying to get the go-time phone call! (For the record, I’m predicting boy again, but hope I’m wrong!) Maybe posting pictures of Little McD’s baby shower might be all the nudge that littler person needs to may his/her debut!

This shower was the dream-child of my sister and executed by my parents and may be one of the most clever showers I’ve attended.  With a travel-theme, guests collected passports at the door and a jar of souvenirs that included special treats from all the places Rosanne and soon-to-be-daddy, Ryan, have lived.  It was personal and adorable and the perfect introduction to the world.

Let’s start with cake because really, that’s the reason why we go to these showers, isn’t it?  This sprinkle Funfetti cake was absolutely delicious and sat on my aunt’s vintage luggage (which is quite fabulous in my opinion).
