I was on a beach chair visiting family in Fort Lauderdale last winter when I got a text from my good friend, Kyle, telling me he had recommended me to shoot his friend’s wedding (thanks, Kyle! Love you!)  I knew that any friend of Kyle’s would be someone I’d be dying to photograph, but after googling the wedding venue, Tower Hill Botanical Gardens, I was desperate to book this wedding and if you’ve been there, you know why.  It’s such a gorgeous and unique little spot and the reception takes place in a orangiere, like an actual place where you grow oranges, that I didn’t even realize existed in this part of the world.  And after meeting the grooms, Josh and Steve, I was even more eager because I looove these two.  Like actually love them.  They are sweet, and fun, and kind, and all the things you’d want in a friend and being surrounded by their friends and family on their wedding day totally solidified my thoughts.  They are loved. And the people who came to witness their marriage were all so happy and there to celebrate them completely and whole heartedly.  Being their photographer was such a privilege and a day I’ll remember.  And not only because of them, the gorgeous setting, the wonderful family and friends but also for the AMAZING playlist that included Whitney Houston, Backstreet Boys and all my faves from the late 1990s!  Thanks to my second shooter, Matt Wood, for holding me back from the dance floor and saving myself some embarrassment with my horrendous dance moves!

when Josh and Steve swapped moms mid-dance, I was a blubbering mess, as were the rest of the guests.

Josh and Steve…I hope you both live happily ever after (and I hope that “after” includes some time with me because I miss you guys already!)  Congrats to an adorable couple!
