Woohoo! It’s Monday. I don’t usually look forward to Mondays but we had a crazy busy weekend that consisted of too many children’s birthday parties to count and Leo had some major sugar rushes followed by sugar crashes that made us all exhausted, so I’m not necessarily sad to get back our normal routine today. And I was also excited for Monday because my mom is in town and I knew I could wake up today and work on Deedee and L.B.‘s wedding for more than 24 minutes (the length of a Daniel Tiger episode to be exact) at a time.
These two. They are so adorable and were such an amazing couple to work with. L.B. is not only super fun and easy to be around, but also follows direction perfectly. I feel like I could have told him to do something absolutely ridiculous and he would have done it without hesitation, and I absolutely love that in a groom. And Deedee is a doll and uber organized. I would give her some tips on what makes a wedding run smoothly and she would execute whatever that tip was immediately and together we created a timeline that made the day awesome–so THANK YOU Deedee! These two are totally meant to be.
Although now that I think about it, Deedee didn’t follow EVERY tip I gave her. I usually tell brides that they only really need an hour of dancing photos after all the wedding “events” are done at the reception, but Deedee insisted on adding an hour to her package and I was afraid she would regret it when she got the photos because usually, an hour of open floor dancing is all you need. But when I got to the reception I absolutely understood her reasoning. Deedee and L.B.’s guests know how to dance and they know how to dance well. The entire wedding was on their feet on the dance floor and having the time of their lives before the salads were even served. Part of this is because Deedee and L.B. have really fun friends but also because the band was ridiculoussss. If I didn’t have two babies at home to get back to, I would have stayed all night. And I also need to send a special little shout out to the bridal party–big groups are usually hard to photograph because it takes more time to round everyone up and move things along–but this group was on it. I think we got the entire group photos done in half the time that it usually takes. That and the fact they did not shy away from the camera on the dance floor, A+!
I started taking pictures of the ladies at the house where Deedee grew up and I adored meeting her very fun and super welcoming friends and family.
Special thanks to my right hand gal, Iryna for meeting up with the guys!
