Woohoo! So excited to share Amanda and Jimmy‘s day with you guys because it was fab.u.lous. Although it didn’t start that way. The Jimanda wedding (as I can now only refer to these two as) was the first day of a weekend work stint I took off for in Western Massachusetts. I had dedicated Saturday to the wedding and was staying over Sunday to do some family sessions in the Berkshires. If you know me at all, you know I LOVE overnight work trips. My husband takes about a kagillion of them and I’ve gone on about 10 in my entire working career, so when I get to go, I feel like I’m going to Disneyland. The thought of sleeping in a bed for an entire night straight through is the greatest gift that anyone could ever give to me–it makes a job I already love even sweeter. But, as my luck always proves, every single overnight I’ve had planned this year has had something so annoying and random happen. One wedding I got mastitis and shot with a temp of 102, another wedding I cracked my rib leaning over the backseat of the car trying to get a toy for Leo while the car was in motion (there’s a reason for those seatbelts, people!) and shot with a limp left side, and this wedding was filled with crazy ridiculous amounts of traffic (which is a wedding photographers worst nightmare!) and a ridiculous story that involves being a new mother, that someday, Amanda, I will explain to you in detail after you have kids of your own…for now, just know, it wasn’t good.
But after a crazy morning and a black cloud that is following me and needs to scram, I walked in on beautiful, gorgeous Amanda who was so peaceful and calm even though she claimed she was a ball of nerves. I like to describe Amanda as effortlessly gorgeous. She looked insane on her wedding day, like a beautiful Barbie doll I would have dressed up when I was little, but she is the type of person that I am pretty sure rolls out of bed looking just as good. On her wedding day though, she really did sparkle, and I loved getting to spend the morning with her best friends taking their pictures and hanging out. And Jimmy…my little Jimmy…I have a special affection for him as I’ve already admitted in person and via Instagram because he scarily reminds me of my husband and brother-in-law. It’s like someone took a mix of the two, swirled them up and created Jimmy. And hearing the way that Amanda describes Jimmy makes me think that he really might be the 4th Bruno brother. (I hate when people say I look like someone they know, so Jimmy, don’t hate me for it! If you’re wondering, my husband is super handsome and was once told he looks like a young George Clooney–ask him about it, he LOVES to tell the story over and over and over and over again…)
Jimmy and Amanda were married at GreatHorse Country Club which, I can’t even say enough good things about. It literally feels like you are driving into a magical land upon arrival, the food was absolutely delicious and the sunset…well, you’ll see…
Thanks to my girl, Jill, for shooting the guys and being all around awesome.
Jimmy looks even more like a Bruno when he’s at the bar. 😉
SO FUN.
Jimanda. You two are ammmazzzing and I hope to see more of you in my life soon! Muah!
