Goooood Moooooorning Wooooorld!
Have you ever thought about that question, “If you could go to lunch with one person dead or alive, who would it be?”. My answer is super easy. If I could go to lunch with anyone, it would be Oprah, but she only beats out my second choice by a hair. (And really, Oprah only wins because I think I have a pretty great name for Oprah to introduce me with, “Janellllllleeee Bruuuunooo!” followed by her saying, “You get dessert, and you get dessert…everybody gets desssssseeeert!”) Sitting in the #2 spot would be my photography idol, Rachel. Rachel is my Beyonce of photography and if she ever looked at her website analytics, she’d see a certain computer in Boston that has been to her site 3,576,047 times. And not only is she a rock star behind the camera, she also happens to be a really cool person and the fact that she has not put a restraining order on me for all the cyber stalking I do to her, is pretty impressive (or maybe pretty crazy…anywho, works out in my favor!) So to sit down and have lunch with her and rack her brain about the ten billion photography questions I have would be the answer to that theoretical question. But the amazing news is, I am actually friends with Rachel so I actually can go to lunch with her and she actually does answer all my nitty gritty photo questions. I’m pretty much like the little annoying sister she never wanted. So you can imagine my excitement when Rachel asked me to second shoot a wedding with her this past summer. (If she is the Beyonce of photography, then it felt like she gave me backstage passes to on of her live performances…if only Jay Z were there…) Seeing her in action and being part of her team made me feel like I had made it in the big leagues, even though my palms were sweating the entire day and I had a big ball of nerves hanging out in my stomach (along with Leo who was still in there and only a month or two away from making his debut!)
Rob and Emily’s wedding was an absolute stunner, as were they. They had gorgeous weather, a beautiful venue, and so many personalized DIY touches I’d swear Martha Stewert was the wedding planner. It was an honor to be part of their day.
I started out photographing Rob, his family, and groomsmen, who all made my job way too easy.

Rob and Emily, your day was absolutely perfect. Thank you for letting me share it! And Rachel…you’re the best! So happy to call you my friend (and my Beyonce! Muah!)
