Precious Paige is here!

Question.  Did you know that if you deliver a baby at home on accident (meaning you didn’t buy one of those blow up tubs and throw it in your living room on some tarp you bought and purposely plan to give birth in it, or have a midwife waiting at your doorstep for your “go time” announcement) and call an ambulance to come help you deliver because you can’t make it to the hospital in enough time, they send you a cute little EMT onsie?  No?  Me either!  But thanks to this little angel right here, I now know that to be true!

If you’ve put two and two together, you’ve already figured out that little Paige gave her parents quite the surprise when she decided to come into this world super quick, not even giving them enough time to make it to the hospital that literally sat a mile down the road.  And since it’s pretty much a fact that all the newborns I shoot arrive late, I was floored when Kevin posted that little Paige here arrived early.  And then when I read (at least fifteen times to be sure I had it correct) the fact that Lauren had to give birth IN HER HOUSE WITH NO DRUGS pretty much blew my mind.  But then again, when your baby girl is due on April Fools Day, I guess you have to expect some sort of trickery!

You’ll remember these two from their wintery maternity shoot not so long ago.  They (literally) delivered the sweetest, most precious little baby girl and I was thrilled to have spent the afternoon with them on her tenth day in the world.  There is nothing like watching two people become parents for the first time and being able to capture those first tender moments is an honor I don’t take lightly.  Lauren was the calmest, sweetest mama, and Kevin had a smile on his face that stretched ear-to-ear each time he looked at his girls.  I feel so lucky to have this beautiful family in my life.

So Charlestown moms…if you see these three strolling the streets, be sure to say hello!  (And shake Lauren’s hand while you’re at it!  Girl deserves a medal for what she did!)

Ummmm by the way, how amazing does Lauren look ten days after giving birth?  It’s not even right.

Reason #764 why I love Lauren…she surprised me with a homemade lace tent for the end of the shoot.  A photographer’s dream.
