Lizette and Isla are Back!

2015-10-11_0001.jpgI’m wondering where I can purchase industrial amounts of bubble wrap.  I’d like to buy major amounts in bulk to wrap Leo in on a daily basis, because I’m just returning from our second trip to the ER in 12 months and that’s two too many trips for my liking.  Although yesterday’s trip was due to the most bizarre freak accident that can’t possibly happen again.  I was planning to take Leo to the doctors because he hadn’t felt too hot in a few days and we were running out of tissues to wipe his little nose with and I figured a co-pay would be cheaper than making a pit stop to Target where I would not only buy Klennex, but leave with an additional $100 worth of junk I don’t need.  I got the little guy all packed up and off we went.  We left our condo and strolled to the condo building door leading to the parking lot as we always do, but as I swung the big industrial door open, the top thing-a-ma-jig broke off.  By thing-a-ma-jig, I’m referring to the door-closer things…you know on the big heavy doors how they’ve got those metal arms that pull the doors shut behind you so you can’t leave the door open?  Well those things are attached by a big metal box and that’s the part that broke.  And when I say it broke, I mean that it came crashing down on little Leo’s head as I held him on my hip and we walked through the threshold.  I don’t know if you’ve ever actually held one of these in your hand, I can’t say prior to this experience that I had, but those things are heavy.  Like, could have knocked me out heavy, and this one not only fell right on Leo’s head, but had two inch nails sticking out of the bottom where it was attached to the door.  Now, I know I can be slightly dramatic about things like this, but I swear to you, seeing something come crashing down on your baby’s head with pieces of sharp metal hanging out is terrifying and all I could think to do was run back and forth in the parking lot like Chicken Little yelling, “The sky is falling!” and checking Leo’s head for blood.  Luckily for me, I’ve got really really really wonderful neighbors who helped keep me calm long enough to get in my car and head to the doctors.  In the end, after hours in the hospital, we’ve got a healthy little boy with a bump on his head and a crazy mama who will never walk through the door the same way again!  I honestly feel lucky that it wasn’t anything worse.  Thank you to whoever was watching out for us!

And now that that’s out of the way, on to something much happier.  Last August I met little Isla when she was only a few days old.  She was so squishy and so sweet and a year later, she is still the same!  I was so excited to see her, her adorable big sister Lizette, and parents Chantal and Ryan.   I could seriously photograph this family all day.  The girls are stunningly beautiful and Ryan is going to have lots of problems on his hands in a few years.   Lizette is so cute and has just enough sass to make her an excellent model and little Isla sat so perfectly, she was one of the easiest one year olds to capture.  We met at a beautiful farm out in Ashland and the fall sunshine, beautiful leaves and adorable faces made my afternoon!  I feel so lucky that I get to see these two year after year.  And catching up with Ryan and Chantal is always a pleasure!    Thank you guys for letting me catch up!  a

How is this the same baby from a year ago? 2015-10-11_0009.jpg 2015-10-11_0003.jpg 2015-10-11_0011.jpg 2015-10-11_0012.jpg 2015-10-11_0021.jpg
