Happy Wednesday!

I have to cut this post short because I have a teething toddler at my hip who seems to only be soothed by me sitting right next to him under the fan and watching Sesame Street to distract him from the pain. Poor kid.

I am so excited to introduce you to Canandaigua’s new resident, Little Miss Adelaide. She belongs to my friend Sheila and her super sweet husband, Justin, who I photographed at a wedding one week prior to her arrival (Sheila is seriously superwoman to have made it to a wedding so pregnant and able to dance the night away. I pretty much just hibernated the last four weeks of both my pregnancies. Nine months is no fun, especially when you have to put on a dress and actually brush your hair, and especially in sweaty, hot, July!) I was anxiously awaiting this baby’s arrival and trying to predict if it was a boy or girl, as were baby A’s parents. But out popped (and I use that term lightly since she took a whole 24 hours) a sweet little girl. Little Miss Adelaide was partly named for the street Sheila’s grandmother lived on–and the same street where I spent my favorite summer the year Shelia’s big sis, and my friend, Quinn, lived there, along with their cousin Jamie, and his boa constrictors who used to entertain us by eating mice when we’d come home late night…oh to be young and able to stay up past 10 pm again…

But back to Adelaide. I got to meet this little peanut on Monday morning, the only day of my entire trip that has rained. And not just a little drizzle. I woke up to what looked like night. The sky was so dark it was slightly creepy, but there is no better way to spend a dreary, dark, Monday morning then with a week old baby, her adorable big brother, Henry, her happy parents in a cozy home. I am so glad that Sheila’s sisters hired me to be the one to capture their first days home. Great gift, guys!

Justin is such an awesome dad. He is so proud of his little guy, Henry, and already in love with Adalaide. Love him.
