Happy Veteran’s Day! If anyone reading this has served, THANK YOU!!!
I’m spending this morning watching my neighbor’s 19 month daughter since her daycare is closed in observance. Not going to lie, I was slightly terrified of having two under two at home with me all day, but so far, it’s actually been (dare I say it?) easier. I’m sure now that I put that in print the whole shebang will take a turn for the worst and they’ll end up killing one another. But for the first few moments, they’ve pretty much entertained themselves and I actually was able to sneak to the couch to send an email or two before they started bickering over the same toy and I had to move my lazy bum to intervene. Is this what having twins is like? You have a heck of a first year and then when they can actually interact they take care of themselves? Or am I just on a streak of good luck? My current view is watching our little neighbor laying down and resting in front of me, while I watch Leo in his crib “reading” some books on the video monitor. I highly doubt either will actually sleep, but I’m totally enjoying the peace as long as it lasts!
So excited to introduce you to little Gavin. Gavin lives with is beautiful parents in a beautiful condo in beautiful Charlestown and we got together on Halloween morning before the city exploded in holiday madness. If you were out and about early on Halloween morning, you know it was faaaa-reeezing. I had on about three layers and still had a chill, but this family seemed to hardly notice. (I wonder if the really really pretty people of the world have some kind of extra layer of warmth to allow them to look this good in pictures on a bitter morning?) Gavin is 7 months and in my very favorite baby sweet spot where he is super giggly, can sit and (almost) crawl but not yet walk and doesn’t seemed phased by anything. I could seriously shoot a 6-9 month old baby all day, especially when they look like a little man like Gavin. And after chatting, we figured out that Gavin’s parents and I used to be neighbors in a different part of Charlestown. Can you imagine the fun we would have had with our little guys? Always leaves me wondering why I moved out of C-town again.

Hiiiiiii Gavin!
Love the way he looks at his daddy.

He throws his hands up in the air sometimes…
Ugh, THE CHEEKS kill me!

One of my favorite things about Gavin is that the Manchester United song gets him to smile. Forget about Itsy Bitsy, which seems to work magic on every other baby, this kid loves his soccer.

Thanks for letting me spend the morning with you! I had so much fun.
