Introducing, Baby Emma, and BIG SIS, Sophia

I’m so bummed.  I was so excited to share this beautiful newborn with you and wanted to dedicate all of my brain cells to writing a really eloquent post about how much I love that one of my absolute favorite families has expanded by one precious babe.  And I was going to talk all about how Sophia, their first, was the very first newborn I photographed that I wasn’t actually related to and how I always hold that shoot in a special place in my heart because I had just found out I was pregnant with Leo when I did it.  And I was going to say how much I love Sophia and Emma’s mommy and daddy and how nice and kind (and well dressed!) and calm they are and how I want to move into their home because they’ve made it so cozy and peaceful.  But I can’t find the words to say any of that in a way that really will tell you exactly how special they are because I did something crazy last night.  I stayed up well past my bedtime of 8:30 pm and had two Coronas (over the course of 4 hours) and I have a headache.  And my usual vocabulary that I swear was stolen for me the minute I became pregnant has gotten even more horribler because I’m exhausted and tired and have the most irritating headache over my left eye that is just there as a reminder of last night.  And I can’t even say I was doing anything cool.  I was literally at a little kid Olympic party chasing Leo around on the dance floor (which, if you haven’t seen them yet, his dance moves are off the charts.  Kid has no rhythm but his enthusiasm is like no other) and wearing Nico all while trying to remember where I put my drink down.  Ugh.  And this was after doing the exact same thing the night before at a friend’s birthday party on Wednesday.  I am baby-partied out.

So I am going to just have to go ahead and show you this sweet little babe with not nearly as much as the love as she deserves.  Emma, it’s not that I don’t love you…please don’t hate me!

I got to snuggle up with Emma this past Monday when it was all rainy and I really can’t think of anything better than that!  First, let me re-introduce you to our hostess, Sophia, who let us borrow her room and the beautiful light for her little sister’s blog debut…

No direction given for these shots. We literally just plopped Emma in Sophia’s lap and she did all the big sis lovin’ herself.

Nicole and Jim…THANK YOU for letting me involved in all the special moments of your life.  I love your girls.  And I love that we can go through this two-kid thing together.  Congratulations on the second sweetest little bundle.
