Keeping this brief because I’m staring at a baby through a monitor that is going to wake up ANY second, which stinks because I could go on about my friend Julie and how I’d be lost in life if it weren’t for her. We met the first year I moved to Boston, completely randomly, and she quickly became one of my closest friends here, as well as my personal information source. Need a restaurant recommendation? I call Julie. Wondering what type of stroller to buy? I defer to Julie (Uppababy if you want to know…if you’re on the fence, call me. I could talk for hours about how awesome that stroller is). Want to know the next vacation to plan? Get the itinerary from the last trip Julie took. There are so many times when Alex will ask why I’m buying something or going somewhere and I only need to respond with four little words for him to understand completely, “Because Julie said to.” If you know her at all, you also know she is an insanely supportive friend. Even when she’s got a million things going on in her own life, she always wants to know how YOU’RE doing. She’s helped get me through a couple rough patches and I appreciate her friendship more than she’ll ever know. And even this photo session is proof. Julie and her equally awesome husband Ross, rented a beach house this summer for a family vacation where they opened their door to every friend and family member to come and stay with them, Leo and I included. And instead of having us just tag along, they completely let us dictate the plans for the trip based on what I wanted to do even though it was THEIR vacation. Julie’s mom even babysat for Leo and little Ethan (who is so stinking adorable I can’t stand it) while I crashed Ross and Julie’s anniversary dinner that all three of us celebrated together at a little outdoor cafe. I mean, who does that?

And now I have to just show you one of my favorite little families because Leo is up and whaling for me to get him. I think he just misses the sun and sand and his bud, Ethan! (I do, too!)
