Sweet Baby Adien is Here

Heyy Blizzard 2015!  I owe you big time!  You took my long weekend trip to Florida and expanded it to 10 days!  Who cares that my husband needed to work? I got to spend 6 extra glorious days in the sun and end the surprisingly long trip with DISNEY WORLD!  Yes, JetBlue had cancelled all flights from Miami and we magically were rerouted through Orlando where my very own fairy godmother managed to get us tickets to see Mickey and all his pals–Dreams really do come true!!!  (And while I was eating cotton candy for breakfast and riding down Space Mountain, I was thinking about how grateful I was for our AMAZING neighbors for shoveling out our cars and my mother-in-law for taking care of Sauce for those extra days!  THE BEST! Thank you, thank you!!!)

But although I was grateful for the extra days there, I was super bummed that I didn’t have my computer down in Florida and couldn’t get this post to you sooner while you were all snuggled in your homes during the snow day!  Because what’s better when you’re all hunkered down in your cozy pjs, drinking a nice cup of steamy cocoa and marshmallows and having an adorable little newborn to stare at?  (OK so the real answer to that question is Disney World, but the second answer is absolutely nothing!) You briefly met Adien last year, but his big siblings, Clare and Owen will look very familiar.  And I know I’ve talked loads about their mama, Melissa and told you allll about how wonderful she is, but have I also mentioned that she is absolutely crazy?  As in certifably crazy?  Here’s an example:  When we scheduled this shoot, Melissa insisted that I bring Leo AND Sauce along to her house to add to the already 3 children and one “rambunctious” puppy she has. And me, being equally as nuts, decided it would totally be possible to get Aiden to sleep during the session with my 4 week old and poorly behaved pup there adding to the noise.  Well, Adien didn’t sleep a wink.  And neither did Leo.  And I’m sure you could guess the dogs didn’t either.  If only my camera could have captured the sound surrounding this shoot–you’d hear lots of crying newborns, tons of barking, some children laughing in the background, and two exhausted moms trying to keep it all together.

This face!  That hair!

Look how calm Melissa is.  THREE KIDS this girl has and still manages to be cool as a cucumber.  Love that she found time to schedule a shoot for her third baby (unlike this third child who has literally 1 baby picture! One!)

Squish squish squish squish.

I love that this picture screams serenity.  Ha!  If you could only hear the circus that was occurring behind me.  I’m pretty sure this was the exact moment Leo had his second (third?) blow out of the day.

As you can see, Owen wasn’t really feeling the pictures that day…

Special thanks to my little assistant, Clare.  She is the best big sister and helped keep her little brothers and Leo entertained. We had fun dressing up in the newborn swaddles after we were done.  (And how adorable are her little socks/stockings?  Love this girl.)

Melissa, I’m obsessed with Adien and can’t wait for many many more crazy days with our babes, our dogs, and our lives!
