Oh my gosh, y’all, WORST nightmare came true this weekend. Leo had soccer practice (in the rain, might I add) bright and early this Saturday morning, and for the first time all season we got there with enough time to stop at our favorite Charlestown coffee shop for some much needed caffeine. Much to my horror, the store was closed due to flooding, as were the other three other places we tried, leaving me not only tired, but in actual panic mode because I now cannot function with under three cups a day. This, my friends, was much scarier to me then any haunted house could ever be. Luckily, I hiked it up Bunker Hill and found a diner that served some of the worst coffee I’ve had, but coffee none the less, and I was able to watch Leo’s soccer practice for one of the few times this busy fall. My other Saturday mornings have been spent working, and I realize, again, how lucky I am to have a job that I completely don’t mind doing on weekend mornings…actually, I admittedly might be really happy I have an excuse to get out of Leo’s soccer practice, which usually end up in me chasing him around the field and try to corral and confine him to the actual practice as opposed to running around in circles (two year olds are much too young to play soccer).
Last Saturday morning I put my soccer-mom duties on hold to hang out with Shauna and Bobby. I was thrilled when these two asked me to take part in their wedding day because I strangely feel like I’ve known them forever, maybe because Shauna and I have met in passing, maybe because Bobby has a strong fondness for Wegmans, or maybe because they are just really good and fun people. We met up at Brooksby Farm and had a blast walking through the orchards, getting kicked out of private properties, and playing with their adorable little puppy, Oakley, who they claimed was rambunctious but was about a million times better behaved than Sauce. Shauna and Bobby were up for anything I asked them to do-which I love-and are so gorgeous and so in love. Take a look…
