I absolutely adore that I’m posting this wedding on Thanksgiving. (Happy Turkey Day, by the way!) Kind of ironic that my first Mexican wedding is being posted on an American holiday, but the bride and groom in this wedding really do know the true meaning of gratitude. Of all the weddings I’ve photographed, Perla and Felipe may be the ones that not only made their wedding day about them and their love, but also about the love they had for their friends and family. With around 90% of the wedding guests traveling internationally to be with them on their wedding day, Perla and Felipe planned everything for their guests. They had en epic celebration at Granite Links (where, thankfully, the rain held off long enough for us to get photos with the sunset) and guests were treated to so many special surprises, from margaritas being passed on the dance floor, to fun props, to a surprise mariachi band coming to close out the reception and marching guests to an after party nearby. Perla’s mother also made every wedding guest a hand painted pashmina—such a one of a kind detail. Of course Perla and Felipe wanted photos together, but they also made getting photos with their guests a priority. You could just feel the love they had for their friends and family. I hope that I was able to capture all the memories these two wanted because I am very grateful I was there with them!
I overheard Perla and Felipe say their favorite part of the day was the ceremony. How sweet is that?
Felipe gets the award for groom with the sickest dance moves. These two had a blast on the dance floor.
