I don’t understand.  I’ve done everything in my power to raise boys who are exposed to stereotypically thought of girl-things…(OK, so maybe I never pictured myself having boys and now try to get them to like “girl” items because I don’t know what exactly to do with trucks and dinosaurs.) I dress them in gender questionable clothing, I let them grow their hair long in hopes they’ll let me put them in ponytails-er, I mean, man buns, I give them baby dolls who they carry around and LOVE.  And yet, I cannot get either kid to watch Disney princess movies.  Whyyyy?  I have never seen Frozen for this reason and I have no idea what everyone is raving about when they talk about the music from Moana because my boys WILL NOT watch!  And let me paint this in the right light for you, not only will they not watch, they actually hysterically cry and beg me to turn it off.  What is it about those movies that spark this reaction?  Or probably more true, what’s wrong with my kids???

Rachel and Jared will never be able to sympathize with my woes because they just welcomed a perfect little princess to their home who I have no doubt will not through tantrums when they turn on Disney.  I am so happy for these two.  A few years ago, we were romping the streets of Beacon Hill during their engagement shoot and then just a few days back, we were snuggled in their beautiful home doting on their beautiful baby girl.  Abby slept and snuggled the entire time, minus a quick respite where we had a quick change.  She is a love.

Rachel is going to make the most wonderful mama.  As a preschool teacher, she was born with a baby-bone and Abby is lucky to have her as a role model for both how to act and how to dress.  And Jared…well I know most people don’t talk about dad’s glowing, but I’ve seen him a million times and I swear there was a little halo around him now that he took on his new role of daddy.  If Abby is anything like her parents, she is bound to be a laid back little peanut who is outgoing and full of fun and hopefully learns how to strum a guitar while rocking a high heel, of course.

I can’t wait to watch her grow.
