So Alex is totally groaning as he reads this (which I’m pretty sure he doesn’t plan on doing anyway) because he knows I am going to go on and on about Katie, his competition right here.  Alex has declared himself my “business developer” because he keeps a stack of my business cards in his office and hands them out when he hears people at work talk about needing a photographer.  And every time I get an inquiry from anyone that he has ever crossed paths with in his entire life, he takes credit for it, whether he actually recommended me to them or not.  And he will constantly ask me how many sessions I’ve booked through him, and then immediately asks if it’s more than Katie…and although it’s close, Katie is still in the lead, which really perturbs Alex.  All the while, Katie has NO idea this silent competition is even going on, but I do hope she knows how lucky I feel that she has introduced me to so many wonderful people!  I met Katie, Andrew, and Liam last year when she booked a session for Liam’s one year old birthday and we became fast friends.  Andrew and Alex have golfed together, although I’m sure they’ll say it’s nearly not enough, and Katie has graciously opened up her house to us, and Sauce, who decided it’d be cool to roll around in a mud pit and then run and jump in their pool on the hottest day of the year making it unaccessible to her poor son, Liam.  How she didn’t rip my head off for having the world’s worst behaved dog, I’m not really sure, but I’m grateful for her friendship.  And I was so thrilled when Katie told me her family was expanding.  Liam’s little brother, Cullen, arrived only four months ago and is THE chunkiest little love I have ever laid eyes on.  I could have seriously ate him right up like a little meatball.  I got to meet little Cullen last weekend while we hung out in Jamaica Plain on the coldest morning ever, taking pictures, and munching on some Union Square Donuts.

Liam is the reason why I wanted a son.  I had such a blast hanging out with him and his parents last year and seeing the big boy he’s grown in to is just so fun.  He is going to make the best big brother!
