Let’s play a game. What do the following times all have in common?
11:30, 12:10, 2, 45, 4:17, 6:00, 6:25, 6:47.
If you guessed the times Leo woke up last night, you win a brand new car!!! Remember that blog I wrote, what feels like forever ago, about how my baby slept through the night that ONE time? It has never happened again since. Someone, somewhere, at some point in my life told me that babies can be one of two ways: either a baby who takes long naps and doesn’t sleep only sleeps for 8 hours a night, or a baby who sleeps for 12 hours at night but takes shorter naps during the day. And me being completely ignorant totally naive, used to have internal debates as to which I’d prefer…long stretches of time to do things like paint my nails, and learn a second language in the evening, or having smaller chunks of time to accomplish those very attainable and clearly important goals, during the day. Ha! Whoever that person was never told me that there might be an option that your kid would do neither. Leo HATES sleep. He hates sleep at night and he hates sleep during the day. I swear he is suffering from FOMO (fear of missing out) and always wants to be part of the action even when there is none and the rest of the world is getting some shut eye. But don’t you worry. Me and Starbucks got this whole no-sleep-thing covered.
On to something much happier. Want to meet perfection?
Yes, you do. This here is Molly. I like to call her my Bruegger’s Baby because way way back about 8 and a half months ago, my friend Kelly and I had a breakfast date where she told me over bagels and juice that she was going to be a mama. And we decided right then and there that the baby was definitely a girl and that she was going to be adorable and sweet and perfect. And we must have willed it that way because were right. This girl…this beautiful little peanut, is just so precious and I’m absolutely in love with her already. So I’m going to go ahead and show her to you because you aren’t going to be able to get enough. (And Leo…Molly is already sleeping in six hour chunks at ten days old. Take a hint, would ya?)
Perfection. Am I right?

Rosy cheeks, dainty features. It doesn’t get much sweeter.

Smiling at one of her mama’s jokes already.

Can I talk about how much I love these two? I’ve known Kelly for years and she is one of my absolute favorites…hilarious, thoughtful, and a really, really good friend. Kelly married her perfect match when she found Matt. He is the calm to her (insanely fun) crazy. And the two of them have been absolutely glowing over the arrival of this little thing here.

This is another reason I love Kel. She is able to put everything in perspective. Crying baby? No problem, we’ll just laugh until she stops! (Remind me of that trick when I’m up a million times during the night.) We are going to have so much fun raising our babies together.

This is it! My all time favortie baby move. I used to love when Leo would arch his back and press his little fists under his chin. And when Molly did it, it took everything I had not to snatch her up and run out the door with her little body all nuzzled on my shoulder.

Such a lady!

Matt is THE giddiest father ever. So in love with his little girl and Kelly.

Kel and Matt…cannot wait to see who this little girl turns into! You are going to make one amazing set of parents and that little girl is something special already.

Molly-babe. I love you so much already! Can’t wait to take you shopping!
