Baby Niara | Three Months!

Oh hey!  It’s me again!  Surprised to see another blog post so quickly?  I bet you think I used some secret magic to get little Leo to start sleeping through the night so I can actually get work done during the day instead of shuffle through life like a complete zombie with a Venti cappachino in had.  Ha!  Yeah right…I can’t even write that sentence without chuckling because I’m pretty sure that while I have a baby who is awesome at everything else (spoken like a true mom), I don’t think the kid is going to come close to sleeping through the night until he is 18.  I’ve given up on the thought of more than 5 hours of sleep ever again.  But hey, he’s worth it, right?

Speaking of sleep…in one of my late night google searches where I’m patting Leo’s back with one hand and surfing for sleep tips on my iPhone in the other, I found that you can actually HIRE a sleep consultant to come to your house and sleep train your baby.  Can you imagine!?!  I’m not sure how much it costs, but I’m sure it’s an obscene amount and worth every single penny.  Orrrrr…I’ve got a much better idea.  You could just book a newborn or baby session with me because I swear I get texts every time I leave a baby session saying their little one slept for hours after I left.  If only that trick worked on Leo.  I think he is immune to my camera.  Little Naira that I’m about to introduce you to couldn’t even wait until the session was over, but actually fell asleep mid-pose in half the shots.  What a sweet pea.

Naira’s mom, Niketa, and I started chatting about this session right after she found out she was having a baby girl!  She was so excited and it was so fun to start planning her newborn session.  However, like my own, Niketa’s labor wasn’t quite as smooth sailing as she had hoped and the newborn session became a 3 month session.  While I think squishy little newborn photos are so adorable and memorable, getting to meet babies when they start to have little personalities and look like who they’ll eventually turn in to is so super fun.  And as it turns out, we were able to time the shoot to coincide with Niketa’s parents visiting from India and her sister and brother-in-law’s trip from Chicago.  Spending time with the entire family in the first few months of little Niara’s life was so special–and I hope she knows how loved she is.

Here is Niara–unlike any baby I’ve every known, she LOVES being on her tummy.  Girl’s gonna crawl at 4 months!
