Today is a good day! I’m sitting here, sipping on some coffee by my Christmas tree and watching last night’s episode of The Walking Dead while Nico naps and Leo is at school. I need to savor every second of this calm because the next few weeks are going to be pure chaos. Leo understands Christmas this year and is SO into it; the gifts, the sugar, the late bedtimes. Oy!

I am so excited to introduce you to my new besties, Ashley & Dan. Ashley is my friend, Jen’s nanny. (I need to pause for a minute and thank Jen for sending Ashley my way. Similarly to me, Jen is from upstate NY and lives in Charlestown with her two baby boys and runs a booming pilates business…and we both are ALWAYS struggling the work/life balance when you work for yourself AND take care of your kids. Jen knows that Ashley is an awesome nanny. Jen also knows that I am always looking for extra childcare. So the fact she introduced me to Ashley knowing that I could potentially lure her into watching my children—which I swear I would NEVER, EVER do—was a giant leap of faith on her part, so THANK YOU, Jen!) And I can see why Jen trusts her with her children. She is kind and genuine and compassionate and she feels big—which is why I think we get along so well. Ashley and Dan have the cutest little love story that I think I’m going to wait to share with you later, but the two of them make such a perfect couple. Not only are they both twins, but they are so in love. When I met up with them at the coffee shop down the road, they curled right up into one another’s arms so adorably that i knew photographing them would be a breeze. And it was. We started on their roof deck before heading to Beacon Hill to finish off their session before the sun went down—and man, did it go down fast that night. We were literally running to beat the clock, and also because it was freezing, although you wouldn’t know from how good these two look. Thank you guys for totally rocking it.

I didn’t want this shoot to end so I forced them to keep going until it was completely dark.
