One of the first questions people asked us when we found out we were pregnant with Leo was if we were going to move. And the very first question everyone asked us when we found out we were pregnant with Nico was when we were going to move. Living in the city with two little ones and a dog definitely has it’s challenges, but this blog is going to show you four reasons why we’ve been sticking it out in the city even though the room of the ‘burbs has been calling our name: our neighbors. I always wanted really good neighbors–but then again, so does everyone. Good neighbors can be hard to come by. I had hoped that at best, we’d find people we liked to say hello to when we passed in the hall, but I never would have guessed we would find neighbors who quickly have become like family. Perhaps it’s because both of us are in Boston with little family of our own (but I’m lucky enough to have amazzzing inlaws!) that we’ve grown so close so quickly, or the fact that we’ve had similar life experiences to bring us together, but we feel so blessed to live two doors down from Lauryn, Matt, “Quinny”, and now baby Aubrey. I’m not even sure I can put into words how grateful I am for the coffee talks Lauryn and I have had in our PJs without makeup about any and everything, or how Matt shoveled our car multiple times during the snowstorms of January 2015 while we were “stuck” on the beach in Miami, or how I can call them at any second to borrow milk on days when I can’t manage to get to the grocery store, or how Leo and Quinn have grown up together more like siblings than friends. I love them all to pieces, and can’t wait to watch Nico and Aubrey grow up together, too.
I’m sharing a few pictures of our multiple day session with Aubrey, Quinn, Matt and Lauryn, because multiple day sessions are one of the perks of living two doors down.
What??? More pictures?
Lauryn. She loves my kids like they are her own and takes as good of care of them as my own mother would do. Do you know how rare it is to find a friend like that? She’s definitely a mom I try to be like.
The very best around.
You’ll forever be our first and most special neighbors–near or far.
