Stella and EJ’s Bumpity Bump Bump

Oh hello, there!  Gorgeous day, isn’t it?  I’m on my 100th cup of coffee so life is good.  My sweet little peanut, Nico, kept me up all hours last night.  I had a new rule with baby number 2 and that was not to discuss his sleep with anyone because I knew I’d jinx myself.  By 5 weeks, my guy was snoozing through the night.  Life was more than good, it was amazing.  I could function and I was starting to gain back my vocabulary which seems like it’s been nonexistent for the past couple years.  I didn’t tell a single soul that this was happening.  Not one person.  But low and behold, we started traveling to NY, and to Maine, and to New Hampshire, and to many places that were not our home and my little A+ sleeper decided to fail me and revert back to sleeping in just a few hour chunks here and there.  So last night after being back home for a week or two, I finally caved and to the advice of his doctor, let the little guy cry for a while (don’t judge me, please!).  And while I was awake cringing at every single wail, my dear, sweat, loving husband, was passed out the ENTIRE time.  How in the world guys are able to sleep through their babies tears is beyond me.  Even hours after Nico fell asleep, I was wide awake feeling the mom-guilt and seething at my snoozing husband.  I hope you enjoyed every second of that sleep, my dear, Alex!!!

So I’m sharing a few photos of one of my mommy-besties who will soon join me in the ranks of Mommy Zombie and be up all hours of the night with her #2 (ready for that, Mich??) in just a few days and I could not be happier!  Because there’s nothing in the world a sleepless mama likes than some middle of the night texting company!  With our firsts, Michelle and I may have gotten the awards for having the worst sleepers.  I’m actually not sure if our babes were worst than the average or if the other babies in our group just happen to be amazing sleepers, but somehow, we were still tired and complaining while the rest of the bunch was functioning and relatively rested.  But eventually, Leo and Michelle’s girl, Stella slept through the night, and I am sure that some day (hopefully very soon) Nico and Stella’s little brother will too!    In just a few short days, Michelle and Sean will be welcoming baby EJ into their lives and I cannot wait to meet this little guy.  He is sure to be a great dresser, future hockey player, and if he’s anything like his big sister, Stella, will probably coming out of the womb speaking in full sentences.

Have I mentioned how much I adore this family?  Here is Stella, who just turned TWO!  What a big girl.
