Don’t you love when you meet someone who just gets you?

Someone who laughs at your jokes because they have the same sense of humor, or can relate to your crazy family stories because they grew up with a similar one? Someone who you can dance to Party in the USA in the kitchen for a solid hour on repeat (not that that’s ever happened or anything…). Or a person you know you don’t have to ask if they saw whatever show was on Bravo last night, because clearly, their answer is yes (and they agree that it’s totally wrong for Kyle and Brandi to rekindle their relationship for the sole purpose of ganging up against Lisa…meanies). That’s my friend, Katie, and I’m so lucky to have found her a few years back. Had we met earlier in life, I’m confident that we’d be sharing best friend necklaces and standing up in each others weddings, but since our eyes first locked at the Boston Wine Festival five years ago, I’d say we’ve been doing a pretty good job of making up for lost time. And sometimes, when I’m really missing my family, seeing Katie helps me remember who I am, because she just “gets” me and what I’m about. In a crazy world, this girl keeps me sane. I do not know where I’d be without her.

And I haven’t even mentioned one of the best parts about our little friendship…Katie recently took up photography as well, so we’ve spent countless hours sharing tips, gawking at photographers we both admire, and consulting one another about “the biz”. It’s been so much fun to expand our knowledge of photography, and our friendship, together.

This past fall, Katie and I met up in Beacon Hill to get take some headshots for each of our respective websites while our husbands walked around Boston Common during the random Hempfest that was taking place with Katie’s two boys and Sauce (the visual of the two of them spending a Saturday morning strolling around Boston together with Starbucks in hand and toting around two babies and one ill behaved fluffy puppy at a Hempfest of all places, still makes me giggle.) We also took some shots of Katie and her boys, seeing as she rarely ever gets a chance to be in front of the camera. They are so adorable and I’m glad Katie had a chance to pose with her little men.

I hope Katie doesn’t kill me for posting so many pictures of her…but she is too pretty not to share.
