A Big Bad Cape Cod Family Session

Bringing you a fabulous extended family session today!

Last weekend you may have seen via instagram that I was FREE! I was alone, on the Cape, with no kids, no husband and no work! I was surrounded by 7 of the best mom-friends a girl could ask for taking private yoga classes and riding bikes (ADULT bikes. The kind without pedals!) and sleeping in and lounging by the pool and maybe even jumping on beds during a late night dance marathon. It was glorious! A much needed moms weekend away. (And for those of you who are thinking how lucky I am that Alex stayed home with the kids and “let” me go…he had equal amounts of fun the weekend prior when the dads headed to the same spot and had their own weekend away. Scratch that, he probably had MORE fun because if we’re being real, the dads always seem to have more fun don’t they, mamas? 😉

We spent 2 glorious nights away and it was magical, heavenly, euphoric and all the words I can use to describe how freaking amazing it was! And when all was said and done, and our weekend came to an end, I finished it off the best possible way I know how: WORKING! Yes, I love this job so much ending a fabulous weekend shooting a family session on the Cape before trekking back to Boston made me so happy! Especially when I pulled up to the beach house this family was staying in that looked more like the Kennedy Compound than a home.

Kayce, mom of THREE boys three and under (#goddess) invited me to come take some shots of her family and when she opened the door sandwiched between her two oldest sons, my heart did a little happy dance, and it continued dancing with every family member I met because they were all so pretty and so stinking nice. I adore these photos so much and I hope Kacye and farm does too!
