Here. We. Go. Get ready to drool…

Now lots of people have said to me that they couldn’t have me take photos in their house because their house doesn’t look the way they want.  I get it.  Mine doesn’t either.  But I try to explain that not everyone’s house looks like a magazine.  So many times I’m moving things around and playing with light so we get the best angles of you and of your home.  You can’t believe everything you see in pictures.  And sooooooo many times, especially this year, there has been rain, which makes for really snuggly newborn pictures, but if you had to pick, isn’t exactly the ideal.  I’m used to figuring out the best light–even if there isn’t a lot of it due to weather or just the direction of the house.  It’s fun.  It’s challenging.  And it’s what keeps me motivated to keep learning and growing.

But sometimes, when you walk into a room with gorgeous light at just the right time of day where the room is bright but you don’t have to worry about weird shadows or shapes made by the light, and a room is decorated better than what you’ve seen in a magazine, and a really calm mom is holding a sleeping baby that doesn’t seem to be bothered by ANYTHING, and she’s just bought a stack full of swaddles that she’s seen on instagram…and they’ve got an amazing view of the North End and the sailboats in the harbor, and the dad is really really cool and enjoys (or at least I think) snuggling his baby and getting photographed, and your realized that you have so. many. connections with the couple, you do a happy dance in your head, take about ten minutes of photos because you got what you needed faster than any session ever, and imagine dropping to the floor of the nursery and rolling around in the gorgeous cotton candy colored carpet.

Jamie, Victoria and Hadley.  I LOVE YOU.  We’re going to be friends.  You are going to finish out your time in the North End and move to Charlestown with me and hang out all the time.  And Victoria you’re going to decorate my house.  And Jamie you’re going to hang out with me.  And Hadley you’re going to let me squish you to no end.  Mmmmmk?
