Hi there!

It’s been for.ev.er since I’ve blogged. I wish that I could tell you that I’ve been off somewhere fabulous, like a private secluded beach in Tahiti, doing nothing but catching rays and sipping on daiquiris, or maybe spending the time I’ve been off learning a second language in hopes to travel to a third world country to better the world…heck, I’d even be proud of myself if I could say that I stuck with my New Year’s resolution to exercise more (which I committed to for .5 days). But sadly, the honest truth is that I’ve been sitting snuggled on my couch doing nothing but watching a big fat marathon session of Scandal. Yes, I’ve been mesmorized by Olivia Pope and her team of gladiators, so much so that when the State of the Union address started last week, I was surprised to see Obama giving his remarks instead of Fitzgerald Grant. I’m so pathetic. Maybe I should have resolved to lay off the tube a little in 2014 instead of that grand exercise plan.

It’s a good thing for me and for the new little family I’m about to show you that Olivia Pope & Associates is a fictional company because if it were real, I would have happily put little Sophia in my camera bag when her parents weren’t looking, driven straight to Washington DC, and had Olivia and her white hats find a way for me to legally keep this sweet little thing forever and ever. Sound crazy? Maybe. But anyone who meets this little newborn is going to feel the same exact way.

Sophia’s mom, Nicole, emailed me a while back to take pictures of her little baby and we were both on pins and needles awaiting her fashionably late arrival. When she finally decided to come out into the world, I was able to meet Sophia on the 5th day of her little life. She was so sweet and so precious and so snugly. And watching Nicole and Jim with their new baby was so special. I’m in love with this family.

I love how teeny Sophia’s hands are next to her daddy’s.

Sweet little Sophia, it was so nice to meet you!  You are the absolute cutest in the world!
