Hi!

I’m so excited that I get to officially introduce you to Social Suzi today! You remember from my dedication that Suzi is the amazingly talented web designer/social media extraordinaire that literally took my disorganized disaster of a website and molded it into the wildly beautiful blog that you are currently fixating your pretty little eyes on. She has the patience of a saint and creativity spilling out of her ears, and I am so enamored by the fact that she has created this successful business of her own that you can read about on her website here.

Suzi mentioned that she was looking for a few fall family shots and I jumped at the chance to take pictures for her to thank her for the long hours she put in with me while I agonized over what font colors to choose and whether or not I should capitalize the “J” on my logo. I’m so annoying. Suzi lives in my hometown in New York and I had been dying to do a shoot at this secret little farm I found that overlooks the lake complete with hay bails, a barn, and a vineyard. I was really feeling guilty after cheating on Canandaigua when I admitted in a previous post that fall in New England is more beautiful…I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to prove myself wrong and on the six hour ride home, I was imaging all the cute shots I’d take with her adorable three boys on the hay bails and and frolicking in the fall leaves. It was going to be perfect…until Mother Nature decided to rear her ugly little head and rain all day on Saturday, making my dream farm a muddy mess. So after a quick brain storming session with Suzi, we decided to try rainy day pictures in a garden that is actually right behind both of our houses. The misty air somehow made the whole experience more magical and my three little subjects loved watching the fish swim in the garden pond, turning out to be an even better spot than that old farm. And getting to spend the morning with this gorgeous family in a place right around the corner from us made me realize that sometimes the most beautiful things are right in your own backyard. (Yes, I know that’s cheesy…but completely true!)
2013-10-16_0001.jpgA message to all the Canandiagua Primary School ladies out there. See this boy Drew? KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF! He is all mine and let me tell you why…he’s handsome (as you can clearly see), he’s funny, he follows my directions to a tee, and I hear he is really into older women. Drew…Will you go out with me? Circle: yes, no, or maybe.
