Bonjour! We are just returning from a week long trip to Quebec with our friends Tim and Katharine. It was so much fun to pretend like we were in Europe and brush up on the very little French I know and get reacquainted with my good friends the Crepe, Creme Brulee, and French Cheese (pasteurized, of course). And Leo tagged along, too, and by the end of the week I swear I heard a tinge of a little French accent in the ten words he can say, oui oui! It’s a good thing that kid is cute because we inappropriately carted him all around fancy restaurants post-bedtime where he was definitely not meant to be, but the nice Canadians didn’t seem to mind. So thank you, Canada, for not giving us the dirty looks that I’m sure we likely deserved.
I could not wait to return to get this blog up for you. You’ll remember Sheri and Shawn from their North End engagement session this summer. I love them as much as they are loved by their family and friends, which you will see is a ton judging by the size of their bridal party alone. Sheri and Shawn got married in the beginning of the month on a warm December Saturday. The weather could not have been more perfect. We started at Mirbeau Inn located in Plymouth. I had recommended this little spot to Sheri when we first met after visiting the first Mirbeau located in Skaneateles, NY (shout out to the Finger Lakes!) and couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. The grounds are amazing and the staff was so wonderful. I definitely plant to return for a little spa weekend as soon as I’m allowed to get a message with any sort of pressure (as opposed to the pre-natal one I got in Quebec that felt like someone was brushing me with feathers instead of the deep tissue massages that I like.) I started my morning with Sheri, who was so calm and didn’t show one bit of nerves. She was just happy to be getting married to her love, Shawn, who was getting ready in a different hotel with his 574 groomsman. I sent my girl, Tara, of TLZ Photography over to hang with them.
Let’s start with the drool worthy shoes.
Fred, Shawn’s father, was the best man. And may be the only person at the wedding that cried more tears than myself.
Those eyes!!!!
Shawn and his mom don’t look alike. Not in the slightest.
Getting ready for the first look…
Shawn’s face right before he sees his bride? LOVE!
These two…
Off to the church!
Who says a first look ruins the groom seeing his bride walk down the aisle? Shawn was the happiest the whole night.
It was a little dusty in the reception area and Fred had a hard time keeping his eyes dry, so he had a little back up during his speech. Favorite shot of the night…
It should come as no surprise that the dance party was epic.
Shawn and Sheri, I’m so sad your day is over. I want to do it again! Wishing you the best holiday season as a Mr. & Mrs.! And Shawn…I haven’t forgotten about donuts!!!
