There’s a first time for everything…even photographing a baby on a barge. Yes, barge. Yes, we took the baby, the 6 day old baby out for a ride on a barge to take newborn photos. That’s totally normal, right? Don’t worry everyone, it was completely safe and I think we were moving at 2 miles an hour and had hands and eyes on the baby the entire time. We also only went a few feet off shore. But that barge has special meaning to this family…it’s the one Jenn rode over to her wedding ceremony when her and DJ got married, and the one where they host a gigantic 5th of July party every year. Why the 5th? Because DJ is a state trooper (and in the army and in the special forces, and in the CIA, and the DEA…kidding about the last two, but I honestly feel like DJ must be 89 years old to have the resume he does.  There is nothing this man cannot do, including stuff his little baby in a mermaid tail as you’ll see.)

Jenn and DJ are so flipping happy and it literally beams from them. I bet they’ll have a hard time taking a break from staring at little Savannah to even take a minute to read this blog. She is one loved little peanut; and so cuddly and perfect and they are just all so lucky to have one another. Spending time with them at their home on the water and seeing all the fun that is in store for little Savannah was magical. And having grown up by the lake myself, it felt like a little flashback in my childhood to see all the water gear too. I may just buy the house next to Jenn and DJ so our boys can experience lake life alongside little Savannah. I’m sure it’s in our budget 😉
