I’m feeling like a total deadbeat mom today. This entire weekend, actually. I have been working nonstop this weekend and have a session tomorrow, and while I should be playing with my children who I haven’t seen in days, I plopped them in front of the television so I could get this blog post up. I’ve been intending to do it for days now and just haven’t had a chance so I’m totally prioritizing work over my children. And I know I’m going to miss these days, but man, sometimes you’ve just got to let the television babysit so you can blog…though it doesn’t stop my mom guilt from raging.

I am SO lucky to live in the best neighborhood in the world and have a job where I get to roam around the streets finding the prettiest spots and making new friends with the people in town. I was thrilled when Kate hired me to photograph her family maternity shoot before baby #2 arrives, but when I walked up and saw how stinking pretty she was in her little button down dress and pretty chignon, I got super excited for the shoot. Add in a really, really adorable little toddler (who tried to pretend like we weren’t friends at first until I wore him down and he became my bestie) and a super fun dad who bonded with me over a mutual love of upstate NY Wegmans, and I’m one happy photographer. Oh, and I’m leaving out the part where we ended with bomb pops and scored the “Townie Discount” (thanks, Mitch!) and you know, life couldn’t possibly get any better.

The time right before you add in a second baby to your family is so special and I’m always happy when people capture the days leading up to being a family of four. I’m glad I was able to document baby’s bump and Duke being the one and only, because before you know it, a new little love will be here.
