Spring Break, Baby | Kennebunkport, ME

It’s not often that I thank my husband’s work for making him work long hours….especially not when I’m the one who is home with a little puppy that isn’t housebroken and still biting the shoelaces off every sneaker he comes in contact with.  But I do want to give a big old shout out to his work for totally screwing up my spring break plans!  Sound strange?  Initially, we had plans to go to San Francisco, but had to cancel due to Alex’s work.  Instead, we picked a closer destination and took a long weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine.  I didn’t have high hopes for this little town…there was no Golden Gate bridge, no California sunshine, no Ghiradelli chocolate!  But luckily, Kennebunkport proved me wrong.  It was the absolute perfect place to go on spring break…well for those who prefer relaxation to Cancun craziness anyway.   Much different than the summer, the streets were quiet and we absolutely loved this quant little town.  We stayed at the Kennebunkport Inn, which was newly renovated and as one of the first guests of the season, we were treated like royalty.  We took advantage of the free bike rentals and cruised through town taste testing every lobster roll that came across our path.    Here’s a few pictures from the trip–all unedited.

If I told my 18-year-old self that I would someday pick a beach cruiser over a beach chair, I would have laughed in my own face.

The entrance to the Kennebunkport Inn reminded me of my parents house.  Mom, you should definitely consider painting our door navy:)

Our favorite thing to do is ask the locals for their restaurant recommendations.  Luckily, someone suggested this gem, The Ramp.  Not only was the food delish, the view amazing, but they also had a Buffalo Bills helmet hanging in the bar.  And in my book, that automatically grants you best-bar-ever-status.

So Hey Mr. Boss Man, you can make my hubby work again next spring break.  I’m cool with making Kennebunkport a yearly tradition!
