I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…if you’re deciding between a big wedding or a small one-GO SMALL. I’ve done both and there is something just SO special about a small wedding. Justin and Myranda’s wedding wasn’t teeny, by any means, but in relation to some, it’s on the smaller side and the love that oozed out of this one was fantastic.
I met Justin and Myranda not that soon before their wedding day when we talked about their day over coffee in Charlestown. They fell in love with the neighborhood (which made me fall in love with them) so much so that they came back for their engagement session. Spending their wedding day with them surrounded by their closest friends and family was a treat for me. Hearing how much they are loved by the people around them really proves that I find the best couples, ever.
Another reason I loved this day? It was at one of my MOST favorite venues in Boston, Commonwealth Cambridge which has amazing food, one of the best event coordinators, Ali, at the venue and such a fun atmosphere. I could literally shoot there every single day and get completely different images. Top that with the sickest (I don’t think I’ve ever used that word before, but it definitely called for in this instance) ceremony site on Commonwealth’s sky deck with views of Boston and Cambridge, an amazing wedding coordinator (heyyyy, Jenn of Esq Events! ) and florals by up and coming designer, Heather of Nature’s Art, and it was pretty much a solid gold wedding day. I got to know Justin and Myranda’s friends and family and learn more about the Korean culture. I left this group dancing hard on the dance floor after Myranda and Justin spontaneously danced to the most adorable song that I’ve never heard before which not only made me feel really old but also very uncool.
Guys, you are going to love this…
To anyone that thinks a first look takes away from “the moment” of walking down the aisle, I challenge you to look at Justin during Myranda’s recession. Not a dry eye in the house.
