Oh, Christmas.  I love you.  I’m home in New York at my parents house after finishing our 4-day holiday celebration and writing this on a cozy bed that my mom made with flannel sheets for us surrounded by electronic candlelight.  My mom and dad have always done an A+ job at decorating for the holidays, but this year has been the absolute tops, to which I’d like to take credit for.  Last year, about this time, I accidentally volunteered my parents house to be on the historic home tour in Canandaigua which ended up giving my parents a year of headache while they painted and rearranged while getting ready to have a houseful of visitors that toured every room in our house.  And I get to reap the benefits as I didn’t lift a single finger to help, but am loving the Christmas spirit in every corner of my house.

If either Leo or Nico ever even think of volunteering for something that involves a fraction of the amount of work in my place I will killllllllll them.  But my parents thankfully did not and all their hard work is providing the perfect setting to relive Alex and Danielle‘s wedding at Turner Hill a few weeks ago.  This year has brought on some full-on-ugly cries for me as a photographer.  I’ve sobbed behind my lens at weddings more times than I’d like to admit and my goal for Alex and Danielle’s was to maintain my professionalism and keep my composure.  I did fine during the mass (even avoiding tears during the absolute gorgeous rendition of Canon in D that Danielle chose) and through the entire portrait session.  But then…thennnnn I took pictures of Danielle’s grandfather, who I feel in love with at first sight.  And then Danielle’s sister delivered the most sincere maid-of-honor speech and she danced with her dad to Elton John’s Tiny Dancer and it was game. over. for me.

And as I sit here, the only question that keeps running through my head is how amazing it must be to look good in every single picture, because honestly, I don’t think these two took a single bad one in an entire day.  I love these two.  They are going to have the most adorable life together and I am so glad that I was able to capture their wedding day.























































Am I right?  Even dancing at the end of the night these two look stunning.  If they weren’t so sweet I’d be totally jealous.

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Smith.  I am so so so happy for you both.  You pulled off an amazing day and I know it’s just the start of something beautiful.
