Donuts and a Day with Aryana, Shaan, & Dylan | Charlestown Family Photographer

Happy New Year!  How are your resolutions coming?  I joined a little weight loss competition with a group of friends where my only goal was to NOT gain 45 pounds like I did with Leo.  Yesterday was the first day and I already cheated.  I had a doctor’s appointment which happens to be located above one of the few Wegman’s in the Boston area so I just had to get a Danny’s Favorite Sub for lunch (I know, I know, I’m not supposed to eat deli meat.  But it’s Wegman’s.  The chance of me contracting listeria from one of their deli cutters that the little Wegman’s elves go and clean with their little elf hands when the store closes each night is slim to none, so I’m taking my chances!) and washed it down with too many Wegman’s Ultimate Chocolate Chip cookies to count.  Whoops!  So much for the challenge.  But if we’re being honest, I’m only playing because I have FOMO and I’ve already come to terms with being in last place.  Resolutions are so overrated.

Anyone remember the week before Christmas?  The one that felt like spring and was absolutely gorgeous?  I had my last photo shoot of the year scheduled with an adorable little family in Charlestown and pulling up to their gorgeous townhouse had me drooling already.  I was greeted at the door by gorgeous little Aryana who welcomed me into her home and offered me DONUTS from Kane’s.  Usually, when I’m working, I try to be on my best behavior and keep things professional, but when an adorable little girl holds out a big box of donuts, there’s no way I can pass her up.  Between shots, I was stuffing the deliciousness in my face like I hadn’t eaten in weeks.  Little did this family know, Kane’s donuts hold a special little spot in my heart as they used to be a favorite of my father-in-law and the fact that my new little friends had them there made me so happy.  As did spending the morning with Aryana, and her twin brother, Shaan, and little, Dylan.

This family is living my very own dream.  They have a stunning home in my favorite neighborhood, dad, Vikas, walks to work in the Navy Yard, and the kids go to school in the North End where they learn to speak Italian.  Alex and I always talk about how perfect that life would be, but have never found a way to pull it off (although I’m still crossing my fingers that someday he’ll get a job in that renovated Converse building right over the bridge and we’ll move back to Charlestown where I’ll stroll myself over the locks to go visit him daily after dropping little Leo off at school where he’ll become fluent in Italian and I’ll perfect the fine art of cannoli eating while waiting to pick him up at the end of the day.  That doesn’t seem like too much to ask, does it?)

Look at this sweet little face!  Baby Dylan, five months old and such a sweetheart.

Sheila has a big bad job in business, twins, a five month old, and makes it all look easy.  I loved her style that she admitted to throwing together at the last minute.  She makes it all seem so easy.

While the rest of the family did an outfit change, I got some two-on-one time with the kids where we snuck more donuts and candy…but you didn’t hear that from me!

Sheila and Vikas, it made my weekend to meet your family and sending me home with a box of donuts?  You totally get me!!!  I hope every day is as much fun as this!  Thank you for letting me capture a day in the life!
