It kills me that I have to keep this brief because I could go on forever about this crew, but the kids just got down to bed and I cooked my first meal from Hello Fresh tonight—which, yes, is super easy because they give you all the ingredients in proportions and deliver it to your doorstep, but they forgot to include the maid that would clean up the 10,000 bowls, pots, and pans that I needed to use to complete the meal. I am going to be up to my elbows in grease from tonight’s Korean chicken and rice recipe. But at least we ate something other than cereal for dinner! (Although that clean up is a cinch…hmmmm…rethinking my meal planning…)
Introducing you to my neighbor and one of my oldest pals, Jimmy. We grew up on the mean streets of downtown Canandaigua and spent our summers at Sonnenberg Park having the time of our lives—some of my favorite memories. Jimmy has been a constant in my life and although he had to go and move down to North Carolina, we’ve remained good friends and I always love catching up with that kid and hearing about his kids. A few years back he married my friend Sarah. I remember Sarah from wayyyy back when we both went to St. Mary’s. Her and her brother were one of the kids that rode the bus to school, which seemed really cool to someone who lived 1/4 of a mile away. Anyway, long story short, these two fell in love right in front of my eyes, got married, and had two of the cutest little babes. I’ve met. I’m waiting on Junior to get a little older before I can really see his personality shine, but I am telling you, Amelia has both her mom and dad’s sense of humor and I can tell already that if we were still neighbors, I’d steal her and make her be my new best friend. Love that girl.
