Coach Katie’s Happy Family | Boston, MA

Alright. I realize the fact that I’m writing this blog on a Saturday night makes me completely lame. And the fact that I took these pictures just this morning, and am editing, and posting in one day probably puts me right at the top of your biggest loser list. But I could not help myself. I had so much fun hanging out with this family this morning that I just couldn’t wait to spend more time with them…even if it was on my computer screen.

Long before I had met her, Alex and his friends were referring to the captain of their work softball team, as “Coach Katie”. So in complete stereotypical fashion, I made a mental image of this girl looking exactly like Dot Jones’ character on Glee. Yes, she was a sweatpants wearing, burly, middle aged, woman, the victim of an unfortunate home perm, who always had a whistle dangling around her her neck (if you don’t know who I’m referring to, please reference this photo here. It will make your experience all the more enjoyable. ) If only Alex et al., could have crawled in my mind and erased my COMPLETELY wrong visual it would have saved me some shock when I finally met Coach Katie and realized she is none of those things. Although she is extremely athletic, she’s also extremely beautiful, has great hair, and must have superb organization and communication skills if she was able to get Alex out of the office and to a softball game.  She runs marathons, is super successful, and makes raising two boys look like a piece of cake. Coach Katie’s husband, Jon, is equally as awesome. He was not opposed to jumping up and down to make his adorable boys laugh, or carry my bag all morning when I’d leave it behind (kinda considering sending him a photography assistant application).  And these two managed to conjure up two boys who I absolutely love, Tyler and Dylan. I had so much fun this morning that I sort of considered creepily following them to the Head of the Charles to hang out the rest of the day. 2013-10-19_00012013-10-19_0002.jpg

Tyler and Dylan like old-school Disney movies (which makes them so much cooler than the average 2 and 5 year old) so they were so excited that we happened to stumble past “Dumbo” on our way.  2013-10-19_0005.jpg 2013-10-19_0006.jpg 2013-10-19_0004.jpg 2013-10-19_0003.jpg And Kona!  How could I have forgotten to mention Kona?  Last time I met her, she was itty bitty.  And here she is 6 years later!  A big ball of well behaved fur.  Why can’t my dog be more like her? 2013-10-19_0007.jpg 2013-10-19_0008.jpg 2013-10-19_0009.jpg 2013-10-19_0010.jpg 2013-10-19_0013.jpg 2013-10-19_0011.jpg 2013-10-19_0016.jpg Loved seeing you guys!  We must do it more often!
