Hey guys!  Long time, no talk.  Or no chit chat/jibber jabber talk about random thoughts going through my head like I usually fill the blog with.  My “slow” season has been anything but and I’ve neglected this poor blog badly, and most certainly, I’ve been neglecting putting (semi)coherent thoughts together into any sort of writing.  But the snow has melted, the skies are sunny(ish) and I’m ready to roll into another crazy busy spring/summer/fall, camera in tote.  My first few sessions back always get me nervous, kinda like the first time you ride a bike after a long time period.  When it’s busy, my camera is attached to my hip, but when I don’t shoot everyday, I always get slight waves of anxiety when I start back up.  I am so lucky that my “warmups” get to be with such friendly faces.

And this particular session, I had no time to be too self-involved in my own thoughts because it took place minutes after our long travels from Boston to Canandaigua.  Like the good and organized mama she is, Katie had scheduled a portrait session for baby Addy’s first birthday months ago for the Saturday before Easter, which of course, happened to be looking like rain.  So we quick scratched our Saturday plans, and scheduled for Friday evening–thank you daylight savings–the same day we had planned to travel.  Shockingly, we had hit the road from Boston at our designated departure time, but like any trip with two kids, we hit some unexpected roadblocks that had me rolling up to town literally ten minutes before I was supposed to meet Katie and looking pretty crappy (if that gives you any clue as to what those roadblocks actually were).  But in the end, it all worked out because Canandaigua showed up with some killer light, and Katie brought her adorable family and nailed the styling.

And these pictures hold a special spot in my heart.  Little Addy was born just a few days after Nico, so Katie was my late-night texting buddy and the friend who I knew I could go to with all my second-child woes.   So lucky we got to do this together!  And getting to see my best bud, Anthony, and the only person I’ve ever photographed that wanted me to keep on going after two hours, and his daddy, John, were a great welcome home.

I cannot believe how big these two are getting.
